Our Origin
Prior to entering full-time ministry, Pastor Bill Henneberg spent 18 years in the business world. He and his wife, Sandra, have two children, Traci and Lance who minister alongside Pastor Henneberg at Word of Life Church.
In 1982, Pastor Henneberg responded to the call of God to enter the full-time ministry. Following several years of pastoring in a denominational church, he and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center.
Before graduating from Rhema, God began dealing with Pastor Henneberg about pioneering a church in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Upon graduation, he, his family and six others moved from Tulsa to Atlanta where the first service of Word of Life Church was held in the living room of the Henneberg’s home.
In 1999, Pastor Henneberg and a congregation of 25 moved into their current church home in Powder Springs. This facility, which was previously the Powder Springs Post Office, was miraculously saved and provided by God for this church body.
What We Believe
Resurrection
We believe in the future resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting punishment.
Who Jesus Is
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven and now is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and is true God and true man.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the Church today.
The Trinity
We believe in one God revealed in three Persons; The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
Purpose-Driven Traditions
We believe that Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of the church. Baptism: name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Lord's Supper: A memorial of the death and Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments.
Intentional Character Development
We believe that believers should seek, as the early disciples did, a separated life from the world and to Christ and to produce standards of conduct which will exalt our Lord and His Church.
Results of Salvation
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
Healing
We believe in prayer for the sick and that divine healing is a provision of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.
The Church
We believe that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a body of believers who assemble to worship, carry forth the Great commission, and minister as the Holy Ghost leads them.
